Kettle's Yard

Yesterday we visited Kettle's Yard Gallery which is a contemporary Art Museum.
It is mainly visited by students and Tourists and is used for viewing all different kinds of Art.
One thing that caught my eye was Christopher Wood's painting of Paris, which I studied for GCSE and we did not get to view the original because we did not know where to find it. Also Kettle's Yard is a very different Gallery compared to others in Cambridge because it's inside an actual House and is more relaxed inside the gallery.

Interview with Simon Bates

Nathaniel; What are your views on the Youth Takeover and do you think it will be an overall success?
Simon; Great Idea, came from a group of young people that The Junction work with. Hopefully develop new audiences and getting more people involved in The Junction. The day is planned with big Artists. Young people see it as a young persons event because it has been organised by young people.
Nathaniel; If the Youth Takeover is a success, do you think it will encourage regular workshops and events?
Simon; It's the whole plan, working with a small amount of young people and hope to make it bigger. Maybe use it to recruit enough young people to run a weekend event next year with enough funding.
Nathaniel; You mentioned having bands playing in the evening, how many bands are playing and do you not think having bands play.. It might spoil the theme of the event?
Simon; Wanted to put an event where all young people can takeover the junction no matter what their Genre. And being the best value for money.
Nathaniel; Do you think the Youth Takeover will encourage more venues to do the same?
Simon; Hopes that other venues will be inspired by the Youth Takeover and could do something where Young people Takeover more than one place, i.e take over the CITY!

My views on the Interview today, I think I have received some key information from simon today that will help finish the Article. Also I feel that the answers go into depth, therefore we can have a whole page dedicated to youth takeover which will attract lots of young people to attend.

Youth Takeover Article

 Youth to Takeover!

A group of Young Ambassadors from Cambridge have been granted 6.5k to fund a youth event this year at The Junction. It is said to be one of the biggest and best  youth events at The Junction. With over 300 confirmed guests on the Facebook page and the event is 2 months away.

They call it the Youth Takeover! There are workshops going on throughout the day with the biggest and best UK DJ’s. Shy FX is top of the bill and spoken word legend, Luke Wright. The workshops range from Mixing, Dance, Spoken word, Sound and lighting, Comedy and Digital Arts.

Simon Bates , Youth manager at the Junction promised “The Youth Takeover will not disappoint those who take an interest in the workshops that are being put on.”

You think that this would be enough antics for one day but there is more to come... In the evening there will be a Dub-step/ Drum&Bass evening with some various bands.

The workshops are free to view but to take part it will be £3 and the evening will be £5 on the door. Even if you are not interested in the Genre of the Day/Night, come along and your view on music may change.

*Scene progress report*

So far I have researched and found filming producers in Cambridge, also I have been in contact with Bigfoot Productions by email and have asked them for an interview. BigFoot Productions are a Filming Production Crew in Trumpington. Secondly I have done a few blog posts on BigFoot about who they are and what they do. Lastly I could improve on the research I am doing by getting in contact with more than one Filming Production crew and getting an interview with a more variety so then I can choose the best Interview for the job. Researching Television + Video, Interactive Media

I Researched different Television and Video companies in cambridge and found that there are 2 different professional Television companies. Dawe Media Productions and Filmlink UK Ltd. I plan to contact Filmlink UK Ltd this week, and ask to have a meeting with them to find out more about what sort of film production they do. I hope to make it an interview style too. They are based in Trumpington, so it will be easy to go and speak with them.
